As a school governor, I get to see the new innovations and teaching "toys". This week I saw a fantastic tool, but the marketing leaves a lot to be desired...

Basically, the tool is a simple video camera with very simple editing tools. It allows pupils to make their own movies, and learn about story-telling rather than the technology. It's aimed at Key Stage 3, which is ~ 10 year old children.

The company that makes it? They are Digital Blue.
The Product. Well, that's quite simply called "Movie Maker"

So, at the beginning of every film our 10 year old students make, they get the logo:

Digital Blue Movie Maker

I can imagine it'd sell rather well !

[edit] That does remind my of something I heard, this isn't a joke, it actually happened. A psychotherapist set up shop in a small town and asked a local artist to make the board for the top of the shop. After the board went into place his clients stopped attending. When he looked at the sign properly he what it said:

Psycho
the
rapist

I don't suffer from insanity - I enjoy every minute of it!

Why would a psychotherapist setup a business in a 'small town', he'd get like one or two patients max.

Digital Blue Movie Maker

I thought that was a universal term. It refers to films of an adult nature...a very adult nature.

Apparently when Coca Cola was translated into Chinese, it read: "Taste the waxy tadpole".

Vauxhall (GM to you USA peoples) couldn`t figure why they where missing the market share in Mexico with their new small car, then somebody pointed out that Nova means no-go in Spanish, just imagine that "the new Vauxhall No Go! available now!" , they changed it to something like SC2 (the development name) iirc.

My wife has her share of 'engrish' clothing--- so funny. She has a shirt that says "We must get on project with now."
