I am stuck on choices, although i've already ordered Truespace 5
Is Cinema 4D R6 better than TS5, and if yes how much better, because I found C4 R6 really cheap and I want to buy it, I need to know if its worth having both

I have R8 and like it so far. I found truspaces UI hard to learn. Or was that gamespace? I think it was truespace that I didn't care for.

TS5 has a lot of problems but it can be useful
I think C4D is much better but I didn't use it (heard about it)
but what are you trying to get?! if it's just a modeling
software you might wanna consider Silo

Silo is great for modeling but can't animate ect, you will have
to import the model to TS.

I bought Cinema 4D a year ago (it was featured on a magazine and they had a discount upgrade offer on) - it's a really great package and for modelling I love it - but the models it creates fail to export to the .X format correctly. The models themselves are fine, but the texture coordinates get all farked-up and seams start appearing. I'm sure they've fixed this with the latest release (R8?) but earlier ones have it, so bear that in mind.

Yeah I got cinema 4d ce 6 free off a magazine CD too. It's got exactly the same features as version 6 had, only thing is you can only render to a max. res. of 600x400. The latest version is 9. I've tried truespace in the past but have never got the hang of it - all those icons lol. cinema 4d is pretty lame when you try and export to .x format though...If you want a modeller just for modelling and rendering pics and animations, I'd go for Cinema over Truespace.

I emailed maxon of Cinema 4D, they gave me the impression the power of C4D R6/CE6 and TS5 are practically the same, but they said I can get a £100 discount for C4D R9(or £200 off of C4D XL R9) because I have TS5, so when I've got £400 thats what I may do if I don't spend it on a laptop.

To robin, truespace is quite powerful, and is not very attractive because of its confusing gui which is flooded with icons, get your head around that and its very easy to use, thats what puts most people off of TS

I was at first put off by Truespace's icons, however, it's now my top modeling, animation, and rendering package. Truespace 5 for only $89 if you order in 1 day 6 hours.

If you're going to get Cinema 4D 9, you might as well buy TS5 now.

Truespace costs $89, but you get 100£($128.071) off. Might want to double check to make sure my math is right, but it's pretty much like getting TS5 free and Cinema 4D 9 for $30 off.

i know, but I've already ordered TS5, so I was one step ahead of you lol, i might get Cinema 4D XL R9 rather than plane R9 because it has mocca which has a realistic clothing animation tools and makes true cloth effects, but thats would mean paying about £900, i don't know yet, thats why i've been emailing maxon buyer's assistance, but that person hasn't replied my last email....maybe they finished work...
