Hi, i really wanted to make a team request for a modeller in the 3D chat board, but i dont want my thread to get locked. Would i be able to make a liable team request, with screens of the game, and it is actually in development? I also already have a team of two other people helping (Nitrixik Studios and Lukas W.), but both are programmers. If i gave screenshots, info about the game, and told them about my team then would it be liable to be posted? O, i did have a 3D modeller as well once, but once they offered help, they wouldnt respond to emails or reply post (where r u xzaros? ). So i just wanted to check if my thread would be locked, and it be especially helpful if one of the mods would reply, since theyre the ones that lock threads. O, and the game is "Pirates of Port Royale", and it is a hot WIP thread, with a lot of post, lol (not sure how many). Thanks.

Video games…they can take you places unreachable, impossible, unfeasible. They put you in the book...they put you in the movie...they put you in a world, a world that before could only be imagined.

I think it would be fine. In fact, the lack of these details is what gets most 'team request' post locked

Make a new WIP post with more specific model requirement details, like post up some screenshots of the media and ask for help in there.

We really don't want team requests invading 3D chat, even if it is a solid project that already has a WIP thread - problem is that the first succesful TR in the 3D forum will be an invitation for everyone to do the same, well structured TR's inbeside WIP threads are about the safest place for them and the place that tends to get a lot of traffic.

ok, thanks. Ill do that. I was just thinking that the 3D chat would have more traffic than WIP.

Gil,
TBH, you're probably ALOT better off if you take the time out over the next few days and scour the boards looking for a good modeler there, then contact him/her privatly, expressing interest in their work, and giving a short blurb on what you're after from them.
If they respond positivly, send over some more info, such as screen shots, more specific details on what you want them to do, etc.
Then, if you have him/her hooked by then, you're set

It just generally works out better, and less hot ( flames ) if you go looking for people, rather than have them look for your work

Jess.

ughh! my thread on 3D chat board was locked by RPGamer, saying that "this isnt a team request board", even after 2 other mods approved of me doing it!

i think perhaps the problem with your post was the fact that it was formed as a request.. I think what Van B was getting at, was for you to make a solid WIP thread.. trying to get people hyped about the game.. and then just mention that you needed a 3D modler.

Anyway, I think perhaps you might have better luck JessTicular's idea of contacting modlers by mail or simular methods to figure out if anyone would be interested in helping. And I dont think they aproved of you posting a request.. as they both stated alternatives.

So I think RPGamer just did his job.

laters.

ok, just was annoying, considering that neither of the mods here disproved, and i actually do have a WIP, its just i thought that more people would look if it was a new one with the title. And this:
Quote: "Make a new WIP post with more specific model requirement details, like post up some screenshots of the media and ask for help in there.
"

is what i did.
