Hi, poeple, was just wondering what spec poeple have for their PC for running FPSC as something has me puzzled.

My PC has P4 3GHZ, 2.62 GB Ram, Radeon 9200(though had a 9800 in but got a problem with that at the), Audigy platinum 2 and when i want to test any level i make up, it takes it itme in loading the level, light, scripts, entities, etc.

But when i use FPSC on my laptop, which is far lot smaller than the pc, being a toshiba satellite, 1.1 GHZ Celeron, 760 MB, and not sure what for the graphics, this actually runs and loads any levels up a whole lot faster than the PC when testing the levels.

Any tips on how to get my PC to run it faster as the settings within FPS for the laptop are exaclty the same as the PC

Cheers

Well I guess it depends on what you spend your memory on. I'd say that you check both computers by pressing ctrl+alt+delete and tell us what it is saying. (CPU usage and memory usage, prestations tab)ยต

By the way these are my specs: P3, windows XP Pro,1GHZ, 384 MB RAM, 32MB gfx card (nvidia geforce 2MX/MX 400 which I really do not recommend) About my usage: CPU about 10% when doing nothing, memory 50%)

I've just upgraded my laptop from a Dell Inspiron 1100 (2.4 Celeron eurgh.) to a new Fujitsu Siemens with a AMD 64 3200+, 128Mb Radeon 9700 and it now works like a dream. I can even get Sims 2 working on full graphics with no slowdown whatsoever. I've only got 512Mb Ram but that should be changed to 1Gb soon.I'm now officially happy.

Skalex, I need a superfast PC to do all the media-related things on. Its not top of the range but its fine for me. I mainly do music production so I have to juggle around a lot of .Wav files and stuff like that. Its pretty intensive.
Heres a tip for everyone DO NOT get a Celeron PC. Comparing a celeron to my new AMD is astonishing, the difference is quite remarkable. I will never go back to a budget processor. ever.

I have:

Athlon 3400+ 512K L2 Cache(wish it was 1 Megabyte)
1 Gig PC2700
Nvidia 6800 GT 256Megabytes

With this setup and running, the highest I have seen the FPS go in a test level is 38. I would really like a command that shows it in an actual game that is compiled for release and not debug. I think the debug portion of the program is eating away at the processing power, but I could be wrong on that.
