Actually, I wasn't supposed to be in there when it happened ^_^ It was more like a private group interview with a few geeks, but my mom's friend decided to invite me there anyway. And all we really got to do with the unit when we passed it around was see some video running on it (Final Fantasy said the guy at the other end of the table, but I don't really know).

Apparently the guy demonstrating the unit to us (Who was introduced to me as "Mr. Steve") talked about Namco being their potential client. From what I think I understood, Namco will develop graphics related stuff (most likely a graphics engine, or SDK, or whatever), while other programmers develop games for it. The guy says labor in the Philippines is cheap, so they will hire programmers here to develop games for it. Of course, that's how I understood it.

My mom and her friend are gonna be business partners. I think they're gonna be the ones setting deadlines for programmers (or whatever position does that job). It's not much, and I think some of the crap I said could be wrong, but I'm sure that Namco will be involved. I don't know about how the iStation will do. It's like the Sony PSP of the PDA world: has all that multimedia whatnot capabilities and the brute power and stuff... AMD low voltage processor, Linux OS (Mr. Steve says "it's really Linux, not embedded Linux"), hard drive, touch-screen (it's a PDA afterall), overkill multimedia stuff like 5.1 sound support and a remote (lol, wtf!?!)... And maybe games if this thing pushes through.

It's here: http://www.digital-cube.co.kr/

I dunno, but Namco gave it the thumbs up and I have a lot of faith in them.

[edit] Actually, all of us were laughing when he showed us the remote. But I have to admit, it'd be a sexy system, if I had the money.

I spelled "disappointment" wrong. Pahintulutan ang di-inaasahang nakakahiyang pagkakamaling dulot ng kamangmangan. Have at you.
