in 3d studio max 5 when i texture my models it stretches the texture over the model instead of tiles it, how can i get it to tile the texture on the model.

right now i press the m button to bring up the window for textures and I drag the texture on to the object. it streaks it over the object

I need it to tile

any help would be appreciated

thanks

You need to add a UVW Map modifier to your object, then you can select the type off mapping for that mesh, think this is what you are looking for, there are a few other ways to do it, but they are a bit more complex. Hope that helped

Dead easy, select your mesh or object, on the right hand side of the screen there shud be six tabs; you want the second, Modify.

Click on the tab then click on the Modify List, scroll down to UVW Map and click on this, then you can select the type of mapping you would like for your mesh, have a mess around see what work best for your mesh
