File> Save As >Object
Select the file format from the "Save As Type" drop down (box).

Yeah, I've had a lot more luck with the program than with the online boards, but I really do love the program.

Take some time and check out the effects of the various options available to you (via the "options" button) when you're exporting to .X format. There are some potential pitfalls, like having the entire path explicitly saved for your texture files so your models load up untextured when you move or distribute them later.

You might try an email to customer service (not tech support) about the forum problems. I've usually gotten a response back within 4 hours and they were able to straighten out the problems for me.
