hey!
Well i actually took a bash at making a real model, a spider. Some people may of seen it in my Shisaku WIP thread. Made whilst eating cereal XD I have modeled terrain objects before (walls etc - simple things) but never a creature or anything so this was a first try. 30minutes whilst eating cereal, not bad!
I know how modeling works etc, its just not my thing really. I dont get much enjoyment out of it, im a programmer at heart. I never manage to finish a big model because im not enjoying it and thus not keeping the stamina for them >>
But anyway yeah, I made him to test my monster database in regards to it automatically loading models etc from it. But i have now also made a 32 bone skeleton and idle animation so i could test the loading of animations as well
First time making a skeleton and trying to animate XD The animation is simple, its just an idle animation for when hes sat doing nothing. However, the model has a full and what i deem "sensiable" skeleton so if you want to create additional animations its just a case of rotating and moving the bones! You wont have to bone him yourself or anything.
I didnt take a shot of him in the editor, but thats because i already have one of him in my game engine - look here for screenshot:

and

thats only in 800x600 so not particulary flattering but hey
This model isnt the best - but its far from the worse and due to the fact it has a full skeleton etc I figured i would share. This wont be used in my final game so I dont mind, hes just a test peice. I would get someone with more skill than I to make final models for me XD
you may get the model from:
http://www.melted.com/spectural/storage/Shisaku/spider.zip
the zip contains a .ms3d and also a .x for those who want to load him streight into db or whatever.
The texture i cant remember where it came from! I did make a few modifications to it before i applied it to the model but it would be wrong to call it my texture because i started with the file which was just on my hd in a textures directory. As such if you want to use this guy in something commercial etc, best to make your own texture just to be safe incase someone comes along and squints and says "oh, THATS MY TEXTURE!" hehe XD
Anyway, enjoy
