Hi guys.

My friend told me that the new LEGO Star Wars Video Game was preatty fun so I decided to check it out. I got the demo successfully installed but when I play it it exits saying that I need a card that supports vertex shading. I have NVIDIA GeForce2 Integrated GPU but I nevered updated its drivers. So, my question, will it be enough to update the drivers or will I just not be able to play the game?

Thanks in advance.

It's not such an amazing game to be honest.. visually I thought it rocked, but it plays like a quite young childs console game

Really? Thanks but my little brother wants to try it now. Do you think that his card would work?

Visually it's Lego.. I don't think the graphics were outstanding, but then it did it's job. Portraying the small platic figures created by the Holland-based company.

The gameplay is easy to pick-up and play. I guess you could call it child-driven, but I honestly totally enjoyed playing the game start to end, including the spoiler Episode III levels.

The humour throughout the game is definately not aimed at children in places, I think this is what makes the game so enjoyable. I mean it isn't frustratingly hard, and you can pretty much complete all the levels quite quickly... but then it's the little features that make it cool.

Like stacking up objects with your Jedi powers, or running around as a service droid. Each of the characters you can take control of has a different ability... while the Jedi are pretty much invincible, the other charters you need to complete levels aren't.

It also stays pretty true to the films, while keeping it's own unique style of gameplay. So in all while I went in to the game expecting 'god another license leech' ... I came out of it thinking, 'heh, that's actually fun and not because it's a Star Wars license'.

The same can't be said about all Star Wars titles... like Jedi Power Battles.

I installed it on my bro's PC but it still won't work. I'm going to try it on my dad's next. He's got Radeon something.

EDIT: Well that sucks. I can't play it on any of our 4 PCs. I'm going to have to get some better parts.

I think you need a Pixel Shader 1.1 Card.

GeForce 3/4 (Ti only)/FX/6
Radeon 8500/9xxx/Xxxx

This is why I will never purchase a PC game for more than $20.

I played this game on my PS2 - and I didn't have to install it - it just worked!

I loved this game. I thought it was very clever. But it is definitely game for kids, because you can't die! No matter what you do, you just come back to life right where you left off. Even the worst gamer in the galaxy can finish this game!

May the force be with you.

I played the demo and the lack of instructions made the game quite difficult, for instance, I had no idea I could switch to the protocal droid and open the door. Hence, I was stuck in the first section for quite a while before I finally managed to figure it out. Other then that it's pretty decent, I wouldn't buy it though.

Yeah, you need to look at the config to figure it out. The game manual has the controls quite clearly printed though. heh

Well, I knew there was a 'switch' button, just I thought it only worked on my other character and I had no idea how to use it!

.. It was easier to figure out on the controller. Less buttons to tap until it did what I wanted. ^_^

In that time I managed to destroy jar jar binks and C3P0

Try out the controller:-
