I have been working on a website, for games.
I need content tho, before I put it online. Would anybody be interested to give me their game(freeware only for now) so I can put a download link and maybe a reveiw? The game has to be created by you, with all your resources, and not a fan game.
(Maybe this should be in off-topic,please moveit if so.)

Thanks!

We dont really have a reason to, whats the advantage we will have over just posting them here?
Dont get me wrong i dont mind the idea but I think you need a better more complete explanation of why we should.

Just wondering, how do you post games on a website for downloading since I want to do a similar thing with my games?

I put my zip in the same folder on my server where my index.html and other pages go, then link to it like
http://www.aoneweb.com/basic_carve_tutorial.zip

That seems to work.

@Baggers- I think it's commonly reffered to as "fame"

If you're not selling your game, and you're proud of it...might as well distribute it as much as possible...

I have a prickling feeling a ceratin "Darkbasic gamer" review site might soon make a comeback.

It's M-E-G-A-T-O-N. NOT MEGATRON.

Can I see the design of your site, so i know if its "worthy" of putting any of my games on?

Not yet , but I'm trying to make it look as proffesional as possible, but I'm using a template until I get enough content to make it actually worth designing a website.

if you want to make a go of it, get a well designed site up now. if people see a nice space where they can have their creations available for download (and remember the games are free, so no adverts on your site, it's immoral to make money from advertising withou giving some back to the content creators!) then the chances are you'll have more success. I'd like to see my stuff go to a few free sites, but only if the site's are well designed and make no money. (unless I get a slice of the pie for all the hard work that goes into making the stuff in the first place, of course.) Ali, another forum user has a simlar idea. However on downloading a couple of titles from his site, I found the games were wrapped up in some kind of installer that had to install some CRAP SEARCH BAR thingy, and that this would be verified on his server. once this has been done, only then can you play the game. He wanted my game for his site and he was going to pay me money for Non Exclusive rights to host the game. but in light of the lamer additions to the games, I have decided not to bother. Don't go down this route for your site. it's both lame and wrong.(breaking even from advertising to pay for the upkeep of your site is ok, but to use it as a souce of profit to get money in your pocket from next to no work is totally wrong in my opinion. and to insist on the installation of 'other software' as well as the game is down right EVIL.)

cheers, grant.

I agree. I have a few published titles that I could drop on your site "as long as" their are no ads. I cannot even goto sites like GameSpot.com because it takes SO long for a web pages to pull up with all the links to different ads.

And for whatever God you believe/don't believe in, don't bundle the software with the likes of "HotBar Search" or any crap like that.

-This...is my boomstick!
