is there a way to export a smooth movie from darkbasic, if I use a video capture software it is a little bumpy.

It can only export as fast as your machine...no matter what technology you use. If you want smooth movies...do some major upgrading of your hardware.

Can i put a frame capture in the main loop and then use a command to make the frames into a movie?

It can only takes so many pictures per second and it is usually a limitation of your hardware. Once again, to get better quality, you need a better comp.

do you know of a free utility that can allow me to put captured bitmaps in as frames an export as .avi?

if your using windows XP try the inbuilt home video editing program, it may import the imagesall at once if they are named with a numbered sequence.

virtual dub might do it as well and its free,google the word virtual dub
