Yey! I finally got some webspace at angelfire. Took bloody forever, first I tried ourmedia.org but that wouldn't let me in, despite that I created accounts everywhere it wanted me to Ah well them's the breaks...

Ok teh file - http://www.angelfire.com/al4/hawkeye/music/hwk-Forgotten_Winter.zip (Note that this is angelfire, and you have to copy+paste the location into the adress bar...)

edit: new link courtsy of dbspot http://hawkeye.dbspot.com/downloads/music/hwk-ForgottenWinter.zip

Written in ModTracker over the course of, er, I think it was 2 weeks or so.. not sure. Anyways, it's 4:33 long encoded at 96k with Lame Encoder. Some nice fantasy/techno stuff, without being repetive at all (I've got about 5 different melody lines going) Greetz goes to Glacier, because if it hadn't been for his "Heratage of the Wolf" I never would of gotten into tracking (That's his mist_piano.xi instrument I'm using, too)

So... tell me what you think

Thanks for teh comments

Well... I was thinking about dbspot, but I kinda didn't want to post anything there that wasn't dbp releated, seeing as how that's part of the reason you dropped it last time. (don't ask me why I thought that, but I teh DID) Buuuutttttttt now that you mention it, I DO need a reliable host like dbspot--I'm planning on posting it on modplug and ctgmusic (at least) and the last thing I want is people passing it by because angelfire ran out of bandwidth or because they have to copy+paste

Ehhhh do you want to host it yourself off the server or should I create an account...

Yeah, I moved away from db-related long ago. I'll host anything, so long as it's legal. Especially now that I've got my own server.

Soooooooo, create an accountz0r.

Well...

Quote: "The page you are attempting to access has been removed because it violated Angelfire's Terms of Service"

How did you violate there terms??

Anyways, I'm also a composer.

I have made about 17 techno songs on my Yamaha PSR-295 USB piano that are actually worth listening too and I'm thinking about releasing an album or something along that line after i figure out how to go about doing that...

Peace

That's interesting... Probally this line in the AUP:
Quote: "Pictures, movies, streams, and sounds (the "Multimedia Content") located through the Lycos Multimedia Search and other Lycos Network search services are protected by copyright and/or other intellectual property laws. Lycos does not have the right to authorize you to reproduce, distribute, publicly display, publicly perform, or create derivative works from any files containing such Multimedia Content."

They probally don't know that I wrote it I shall upload to dbspot as soon as possible, should be tommrrow tho right now I need to take a shower and crash.

Interesting, they fried the entire account.. after poking around some, I came up with this:
Quote: "Remote Loading - Free sites are offered to users who wish to create comprehensive web sites with multiple pages containing various links, images, and information. It is not acceptable to create a free site for the sole purpose of providing files for download to others. We provide a personal publishing product, not a free file server. If you are interested in storing files for others to download, consider one of our affordable Tripod Angelfire Subscription Plans."

"Consider one of our affordable.." yeah right, the heck with that, dbspot here I come w00t!

Figured out my dbspot problem--I was trying to log in as Hawkeye when it's supposed to be hawkeye yeeessshhh stupid capitals. New link:
[href]http://hawkeye.dbspot.com/data/music/hwk-forgotten winter.zip[href]

Let's see if that works... edit: gah it didn't.. lemme try some more...

edit2: *sigh* sorry people, I just can't puzzle this out I've looked at all the SmartFTP tutorials and the like, but it just doesn't work! I've created the directory hawkeye.dbspot.com/web/downloads/music/ and uploaded the song to it but when I try to access it I get a "directory not found on server" error. Very strange, because I can download it directly from SmartFTP no problems! Only thing I can guess is that the site permissions are screwed up or something...

The web folder is the root for your site, so what you upload there will be what appears on hawkeye.dbspot.com.

Also, you can't have spaces if you want it to be a link on Apollo.

Anyway, I took the liberty of fixing things up right.

Tadaaa

Ah, thank you Actually I tried creating a folder under /data first, but that didn't work, so I tried /web thinking that the access should be configered because you have to view it to view the site.. er. Well it kinda makes sense I'd actually tried it without the spaces also, but of course in teh wrong folder what difference does it make.

So what are you people waiting fer? Download teh file!
