Hey,

I'm not making a huge return to DB or anything and doubt anyone will even remember who I am, but when I was younger I was quite a DB regular.

Just stumbled across the site and was wondering what's been going on here?

Any regulars still hang around?
How's DBP doing? Been a year an a half/2 years since I was using it... Is it more stable now? Any major new features I should know about?

Who knows, I might give programming with db another go soonish, I was just wondering what I've missed in all this time...

Cheers.

Denki.

Edit - Just saw my sign up date, guess it's been over 2 years since I was using it :o

Hmm, to be honest man, I remember updates from before 5 so I'm not really sure what's new... Sounds cool that they're still adding stuff though

Probably not. I do it all the time

And Denki rings a bell... but with an almost infamous rubbishy memory for names then I can never be sure. Bell is getting bigger though.... that sounds a bit rude...

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

MrTAToad became The Coding Area, who subsequently became Squidgey the Brick and has now settled upon Bouncy Brick.

Some people seemed to have disappeared and probably hang around on LLRGT: Micheal King, TMC etc.

That Dutch guy who made all the tech demos, jvi, hasn't been around for a few years

No it isn't. A few hardcore RGters set up their own version of it (multilanguage though), but last thing I heard it had gone down when Vapournet went down.

http://www.dannywartnaby.co.uk/rgt/index.php

Most of the action is happening here now I mean, no offence to them, but it's not really the vibrant community the original RGT was.

GuyS has disappeared btw, never to be seen again. And so loads of ides have sprung up, best of all is RobK's BlueIDE.

Walaber also converted newton physics to DBPro. WOLF converted Tokamak to DBPro.

There's this amazing LOD heightmap terrain plugin for DBPro, it's free and I use it in Mercenaries 2 (remember that name? ;P)

Aw that's a shame, I used to really like that place...

'GuyS has disappeared btw, never to be seen again. And so loads of ides have sprung up, best of all is RobK's BlueIDE.'

What!? You never heard from him? Wow, when I stopped visiting i thought he'd show up eventually... Oh well, hope things are going well for him now.

I don't know what Tokamak is but that newton one sounds awesome, I'll check it out in future.

Awesome... And no way? You're still making that , it must be pretty brilliant by now, it what I remember was already cool.

Long dead But I believe here is much better now. A much larger user base, loads more expertise, and direct contact with TGC.

No. Got the story about servers blowing up, etc etc., getting new employees to help with backlog, then nothing.

Quote: "I don't know what Tokamak is but that newton one sounds awesome, I'll check it out in future."

Tokamak was a physics DLL Blitz people used to trump as being a killer feature. Although imo newton is better

Yeah, I recoded it last summer and I've almost finished it. Waiting until exams are over before doing the final push. You can see it in the stick in the Work in Progress forum. It's more of a deathmatchy game now. There's a video of it somewhere near the last couple of pages of the thread.

The IRC room used to be awesome, I'm glad to hear from you again...

I went in a DB room the other day though and it just wasn't the same, not sure if it was that one you listed but it seemed so much quieter and less interesting
