Rules: Make 10 simple objects and post them for others to use to create a sculpture.
Then make a sculpture out of what objects others have posted. You may edit all objects.

people would say .x because DarkBasic uses it well, but I would say .3ds or .obj or .lwo because most 3D programs handle that

update: I can not make .obj files, truespace only makes .cob object files. See next message.

Let's make the format .obj type files. If someone needs a conversion, they can ask. We might have to do this by email, since this forum seems too busy to allow files to be posted. If this message posts, there will be an attached picture that gives a better idea on how to play the game.

I found I can only make .cob object files. (calgari object files) so let's make the format .3ds

Owners of truespace 5.2 or above, email me at notejam@aol.com I will send you the first set of simple objects as a scene file, just like in the picture and you can load them all at the same time.

Notejam, I've tried yours and well it easy to make something weird out of.

This one is a render with a lens flare, lighting and texture (water)

This one is the same with out the texture

This one is a plain mesh with the gui around it

watcha think?

It almost looks like water in the first photo. I liked the lights you used, made it real spooky looking.

This part of my message is for everyone.
Regarding what format to use:
I would like this to be open to everyone, so I am wondering what's wrong with allowing all formats, and just make it the downloaders responsiblity to convert to a format they can use?

Would that be too much a problem for everyone? If they post what format they used , then you could easily skip over any posts you could not make use of.

We could just have each person, if they can not find any objects in their format, that they be the one to start it for that format?
Any problems with that?

It means some of us would be working with different sets of objects, but that would be fun too, and most of us can at least convert some of em, so why not?
Many persons already have a lot of things they might share, if the format was just allowed, so I really am of the opinion that all formats allowed is best for this topic. Everyone agree? If not, why not?

at jam, the idea was for a watery look, and 3D world magazine says I need Real flow 3D to make water effect that take 10 hours to generate (literally, read the tutorial lol) all I need is a transparency map, colours and light, But then again Real flow makes the effect in real 3D and is more impressive and is animated like real water lol.

Anyway thanks for the positive feeback, I've done 5 objects for mine so far, may as well give you taster to show there is more work, I made random house hold objects.

no one else, its easy, all you need is to use work other people have done a place them inplaces, and maybe add materials like I did, something to practice your rendering tools/material tools with

[EDIT] I might put that through real flow 3D to see what I get, better do it in the morning incase I got to wait ten hours go it to generate lol
