Hi,

I have been reading a number of posts on this forum and I understand many of you are having problems getting 3D models. I have made this post to offer you my 3D services to you. I do bespoke modeling so I can meet the needs you require.

Please be aware that I do not work for free. Royalties, credits, etc. are not enough of an incentive to get me out of bed. However, I offer competetive rates and are flexible (depending on the simplicity/complexity of the model). I can model, uv map, paint textures and rig models with a skeleton. I also have the capacity to convert models to 3ds and xsi formats amongst others.

I can provide aa URL at this stage as my website is currently being renovated. However, there are some links below to a sample of my work.

It looks good, but it seems you can only do high poly work (not in high demand here), and there's not many examples of your painting/UVW mapping skills.

And you should put the URL's you've posted in [IMG][/IMG] tags to make it a bit easier to view.

Mach,

The amount I charge is dependent ultimately dependent on the model you require. My average rate for a 'low poly' model is $70. I say 'low poly' becuase this is largely dependent on the engine. Most of the time it is around 1500, but can be as low as 700 and up to 2000. Since I don't know a great deal about this engine, I would call on you to let me know the poly limit on the model.

I have no problems with low poly work. I have created low poly models for a few clients. Unfortunately, at this stage, I am unable to post them here or on a website since i have signed NDA's. I will make images available as soon as I have received confirmation I can do so.

If you want further information then please email me at tomohawk@ntlworld.com. By asking for a quote you are not entering a legally binding contract. Also, I make it policy that if you are not happy with the work I do, I will continue working on it until you are no matter what fee I quote you. And in the unlikely circumstance that you are completely dis-satisfied with what I have done, you do not pay me (but you do not get the model ).

Apologies for not posting the images in a desirable way. All forums seem to work differently. So here are the images posted again with tags.

Do you have a home page? How would we pay you for work completed if we ordered something?

your models arent suitable for games , they have to many polygons and they have some geometry anomalies.

$70 for a low poly model!?!

Thats just plain robbery! I mean, unless your planning to make thousands on your game, If you paid that for each model youll be living off social security!!

I've been freelancing for gamers for just over a year now. All of my clients have been satisfied with my prices, otherwise they would not have used my services I guess. Also, my fees are recommended by the DTI in the UK.

Developers don't usually come to me asking to create all of their game models. They usually just want one or two - mainly characters. Most developers outsource because they need some models quickly as they close to their deadline.

STALKER: It is not daylight robbery, since I am not forcing my services upon you. Whoever said commercial game devlopment was a cheap business?

On photobucket I would use the third box under each image to copy from, so people can see the pictures the one that starts off with img in square brackets

One problem with that is your in an independent developers forum Ie were not really making all that many commercial games so we cant really afford that.

Around 70$ for a model made to your concept is not unreasonable, though its not clear whether or not anything other than the mesh is supplied for the price.

@Supremacy Project

"your models arent suitable for games , they have to many polygons and they have some geometry anomalies."

If you hire a modeler you are in the position to state the maximum poly count required, also if you find
any anomalies you would be justified to request that they are corrected.

Just a thought perhaps whats needed is a "Services Exchange" people
who cant code too well but can model could swap thier services. This opposed to the "want to join my team" approach which rarely works out
may be a viable solution (one product for another).

Heh. I guess it isnt that bad if you get it textured/rigged/animated, buy being in the 3d animation side of things I find the media part fairly easy as compared to the coding. I suppose for most of you its the other way around. Oh well, Soon ill post some of my Semester folio work.

coding is easy because it's logical.. modeling is art... that's why I think it's much more difficult =]
