omg.... i have it at make sphere 1,15.

I apply the texture and it looks nothing like a basketball.... my problem is?

scale object texture 1,10,10

mess about with the values...

or scale the texture down in a paint program...

I believe it is because you are textureing straight onto the object with a square texture and thus it will not 'wrap around' correctly, try doing the texturing in a modeler.
