Depends if he is making a cartoony game. If he is it looks perfect.

had to retexture the model due to a little additon to the front as you'll see in the pic.

i'mtrying out the graphics program that i got a week or so ago and slowly learning it but does anyone know how to use serif's photoshop to make a metal style?

anyway heres the eye candy

from what i gather is the spitfire MK1 didn't have a bubble canopy at 1st and was added later on because the pilots couldn't see behind then at all.

i'll see what i can do to the canopy and try rounding it off a bit. when i'm finnished this one i'll go on and model a BF-109 to complement it for my game

Its a very nice model, but according to my airfix model the fronts of the wings are straighter and the back is more curved.

yay some1 else who collected model planes

it's the angle of the render and i'm not going for a 100% rendition. i do know what ya mean though. i didn't use enough polys in the wings and i'm not gonna mess with it incase i over do it it up.

it looks ok in the mock up game i've got so far.

just need to sort out under the wings now.

heres what i got so far with the improved textures now.

still needs a few touches here and there. give it some shine so to speak

i think i'll put it to bed and start on the bf-109.

well it proves u can make a sub 1000 polly plane easily

there is one thing i noticed too.... very little critsism. must be doing something good

anyway i'll keep u posted

if its a cartoony plane then I'd use Cel shading if your app has that feature.

i've darkened off the textures now. i personally think it looks much much better than it did do. if any1's willing to help me with the texturing then it's very welcome.

what do u think?

Looks a little too dark now, at least on my monitor its coming along tho'

I think you just need to desaturate those colours more, they are too saturated as is, heres a quick pic found on google (theres plenty more on there) its worth having a look and studying em a little more...

i've removed the darken layer from the image. it was ok on a black background but looked a tiny bit dark on the textured background.

might look a little cartoony but hey... it looks quite nice at the moment.

i'm gonna work on making the BF 109 to go with it as i said earlier on.

no use spending weeks on a texture when the time can be used designing the in-game models

should have a pre-render up in about 24 hours i hope
