hi, im trying to make a terrain.

i am using a terrain editor called 'Terrain Generator', from that i can export into a heightmap.

in milkshape (1.7.4) i have tried to import this heightmap using 'Tools -> heightmap generator' and 'Tools -> Terrain generator'.

it works, but i also need it textured.

so i load up the texture, texture the terrain, and the terrain becomes all green.

i press 'Window -> texture coordinate window' to edit the texture UV data.

the window pops up and now im stuck.
all i see is one, that is correct, one pixel/vertex or whatever it is called.

see picture if you dont understand me.

now im wondering: is there another way i can import a heightmap, make a terrain out of it (.x terrain), and texture it?

Yeah, the terrain generator by itself squishes all the uv's into one vert. Select that vert and remap it with a top view. That should fix it.

I pity the fool who thinks 1337 is cool!

heh, lol my brother asked me the same question!

it is a shell for windows XP, called 'Crystal XP'. it is free, and so much better than the normal blue thingy that winXP is known for.

there is also a longhorn inspirated shell, but it was to dark for my taste.

just google it and you will find it.

Oh right, I assumed it from the Penguin, being the Linux logo.

Looks like a cross between linux, windows and Mac lol, I'll download it, looks better than the normal blue GUI.

play with its settings, you can keep it above all windows and get it to work exactly like the one on the mac if you play about with the settings, I took mine off for a little whiles because it was eating ram when I run Cinema 4D, MSN, 3 firefox, i-tunes and photoshop at the same time my PC is slow with the dock on, well those programs are used at the same time quite often
