Hello everybody. Ok, i've been working on a modelof a anime character for who knows what kind of game, thing is i've only done the head with along with it's hair. I'd like to start modeling the body, but i've never been creative enough in thinking their clothes, therefore almost all of my pics have no detail respecting their clothes. Anyone who's good at it, or just has some ideas of how to make it look good would be apreciated. Any kind of clothing would come in handy as his still not appointed to any project.
Expecting the best from you all...

I assume you're talking about changeable clothes.

Basically, you have two options. Both will probably require that you set the cloth vertecies to a different material than the main body. One method involves replacing one texture with another, similar texture. This is useful when you only want to make minor changes to the look of your clothes, not massive shape changes. I hear you can get away with alot via bump mapping, as well. IIRC, Ocarina of Time used something to this effect.

The other option involves creating a "general" main object for default clothes, and an extra model for each type of clothes, with joint vertecies in the same position so you don't get seams. This is alot more work, but gives you more flexibility as you can change the entire model, not just the texture.

A system using both techniques would be a good idea. If you're using milkshape, I think I can help you with either technique, but I'm still learning myself, so I dunno how much help I can be.

Hope I could help!

Thanks for the help, thought it was not what i requested, it gave me an idea for the game....
I'm sure i've explained all in an odd way. Basically what i need help on is in designing it's clothes, i mean, he's all naked for the time being and i've no idea what kind of clothes give him, maybe a t-shirt along with a pair of jeans, or maybe a jacket and who knows what....aaaaah >_<.... i can't come up with anything good...
So if anyone has sketches, drawings or even a description that would like to share, then i'd apreciate it.
Hope this time i've made myself clear...
Btw, i use 3ds 7 and the changeable clothes technique i'll use will be both...
Still, thanks Underhill for the help
