a couple questions...

1) Does darkbasic only accept midi music files? they seem crappy to me, but could i find a converter to change mp3's to midis?
2) Is there a way to change this code:

into a code that includes gravity-effected jumping and also something that makes the sprite not only move left when leftkey is pressed, but makes him face that way too??

Thx,
max

For the first question, yes DB can do WAVs and MP3's, I think. Go to my web site for some music.

As for the second questions, yes it can too. Generally its something like :

gravity#=0.0

<if no key pressed>
y=y+int(gravity#)
gravity#=gravity#+(0.2*gravity#)

Good news everyone! I really am THAT good...

Yes wavs and mp3s will play in DB Enhanced and DBPro, MP3 not in DB1 tho. All versions also support CD Audio. As for an MP3 to Midi converter um its possible and prolly available but that would sound awful in the majority of cases - With Midi, imagine what you can play on a standard keyboard. No vocals or effects. Imagine if it tried to convert them to musical notes... Kinda like bad "lift/elevator" music lol

Technically, yes. BUT it is possible by writing software to detect different frequencies and therefore notes and how long they play for and translate it to a midi file. Veeeeery clever technology, BUT but it sounds REALLY awful unless the tracks are instrumental
