website here

This game was made for a chinese restaurant... My brother is doing the restaurants website, and asked me to make a simple little collect-em-up game for the site. Weird, but true. So I whipped this up in just over a week....

Game concept is simple. There are 4 modes of play, but basically the gameplay boils down to: Catch food, and put it on serving tables.

Of course it isn't quite THAT simple, you get more points depending on what food you place down. 3 of any one food results in more points than a random placement of food, and 1 of each foodtype on a table will get you maximum points. The trick is that food placed on a table will only stay there for a few seconds, and if you only have 1 or 2 pieces of food on a table when it is served, you will receieve much less points than if there was 3 pieces of food.
You can also only carry 5 pieces of food at one time!

The game has no real objective except to achieve a high score. Simple!

Given Lee's fixation with pizza, I hope some of that glorious foodstuff is included.

That's actually a pretty good game! Took me a while to get the hang of it though but after i did it was pretty straight forward from then on. Maybe 1D movements rather than 2D could have made it a lot more easier than it is now. The general presentation was nice, especially that little falling blocks intro thing at the beginning... nice touch.

I actually had plans on making the exact same kind of game for the dark basic pro puzzle competition. Same chinese restaurant, same food catching but just with some chefs in the distance slicing up and tossing food your way.

I hope the website owners are pleased with the game cus i was.

Oddly i've not heard one word from them :p
It was my bro that asked me to do this, he's doing their website... asked me to do this as a favour.

Is there such a thing as 1D? do you mean just left and right movement, with no back and forth :S

Thanks for the comment on the logo ^_^ I try to make my logo unique to each game, and at least somewhat relevent to the game... Ouroboros I had the snake circle the logo, Katey's Quest I had Katey magically summon the logo or something... OK i'm reaching, but I think it's a cool thing to try and do anyway :p

Yeah there is... like you said movement on only 1 axis x, y or z so in the case of this game just left and right. But it's just a suggestion, can't really say it's better than the 2D movement you got already.
