I've been trying to find information on the ability to script story events.

IE: You walk up to an NPC, click on him and a conversation box pops up at the bottom of the screen. Not only that but you have options to click on (like answers to a question).

Almost like an RPG element. What would be nice is you can have triggers that depending on what you've done up to that point give you an option of other text to show and options to chose.

This could be used as a store NPC too to buy weapons etc.

I would also love to have like a video event for pre-rendered story elements.

Let's face it, today a game won't get far without a good story. We obviously won't be able to compete with the big boys technically. A good story is really needed. IMO

If this exists, is in the plans to be added or has been beat to death, I appologize.

Some of this is possible or may be possible in future versions. Currently we have to wait and see what V1 brings initially.

Some of this is present already. Check the scripting forum.

One guy had posted some incredible videos, showing NPC behavior and some other neat elements he had come up with.

Yeah, you could have enemies that drop money when you kill 'em.

The gun dealer should be behind bullet-proof glass, or be an indestructable vending machine...

@ Merranvo: Fine then, kill the dealer if you want; then you'd get attacked by his 3,000 guards.

Also I'm not sure that FPS Creator V1 will have a 500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 megaton nuke. Plus if you nuked it then you'd destroy the weapon!!

But I do think that buying guns is a good idea; especially if you're making a game kind of like Hitman...

i'm saying have it in v1 because it should be a guy that sell guns and then you walk up to him and a screen pops up and the options are buy, sell, and exit and when you go to buy it shows you the picture, name, and price of what he's selling. when you press sell, it shows your inventory and when you click on something it shows the price he'll pay. that would be pretty hard to script.
