This may be a long shot BUT i thought i'd try... you see for years i have had an idea for a game and been toyin with ways of making it and finally i had an idea... now the problem is... i can't make Humanoid shaped models to save my life... and i was wondering if there was any slim chance someone could help me out... i have the exact design of what i want her too look like but despite owning numerous peices of 3d modelling software.. i just plain SUCK at making people... Asking alot i know... but hey it's worth asking cuz you never know...

I can see from your smile, you're not here for the sunset.

I would adivce you to just start working on a game.. then ask for one later. Its a lot more fun for a modler to do it when they see what it will be used for, and that it will be used at all.
And the quality of it will be a lot better if the ones making it is excited to see it in the game.

Ask when you've got something to show.. the more you have, the better the chance. lets say: if you're able to program most of the game.. and show me that its a good idea.. I'll model it for you.. but not untill then

If you go to http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=52651&b=3 there is a free human test model and then when you have something to show for your game you could try asking again because modellers don't generally like modelling for something that they don't know will get finished.

[Edit] Ahhh Jonny Ree beat me to it.

The happenings of tommorow are behind us now

you could always learn to 3D model, its easy, just takes time, but then, I started to learn 3D, and started getting to addicted, so addicted I abandoned Dark Basic pro, and now I'm leaving it completely to turn over to apple mac and use Cinema 4DXl 9 when I can afford them both. Well today was the first time in months I went anywhere near DBP.

I know what I said would put you off modelling, to me it just told me what I like best lol, bet the point you should've drawn from that load of bollo.....uhh rubbish is that you could learn to model yourself, so when you are finished with the project you will be very satisfied with it. But whatever suits you best is the best

In my experiance Mac's seem to be superior... But thats all personal opinion. On a model I would say go for the test model and play with it in like wings or something thats free... (only if you can't afford milkshape or something better) It shouldn't take to long to modify if you play around with the interface long enough you should be able to do it...
Cheers,
Christian

PS If you wait till 2006 when leopard comes out, and Apple goes intel you may be able to put mac on a windows computer with an intel chip (don't quote me on that as I'm not exactly sure)

Don't we all (looks at topic)

But on a serious note, try turbosquid they generally have several different free models. Don't believe any of the freebies can be used commercially however really would help you block out your idea and you can replace the model later in development.

Yes blender is the way to go, although exporting is a problem. If you can export into dbpro from it then you are set. There is also a plugin for blender called MakeHuman which is free and makes male/female humans for you.
