Ok, I finally finished my first human model ! It's not that great but I've taken quite a while off, and I'm still learning. Don't ask about the face... I have no clue as to how to draw a face texture, because I can't model the nose, eyes, etc. (Btw, if someone wants to create a quick and halfway decent texture, please tell me ).

Thanks

\\\\\\\\extremely simple, yet it could look OK for what it is with some tweaking. not too shabby for a first try.

niiice, considering how simple the model is. Throw on a nice normal map and it could look really good.

Yeah, I didn't really use a texture, just the built-in coloring on max. Also, what exactly do you mean by "simple"?

I think it's too boxy.
It's okay if you want to keep it simple, considering unwraping and rigging, but that one is too simple.
You got no personality and allmost no shape at all.
Give it some more variation and shape.

Ya if you box model(not sure if you did but looks like it) you wanna make it so that a noob would say something like no way you made that with a box. Plus he missing a neck and his hands dont look much like hands. I do like how you some what randomized his pants to make them look baggy and is hat looks cool!

Not a bad first try. Next start to work on detail and curves. Also you might get profile and front/back/top shots of friends and family and use them as guides. I'm still doing simple inanimate objects and the 3D Tutorials (I've almost finished the whale). It's been difficult but I had a little real life modelling eperience and I'm learning to translate that to 3D.

yes you still have the basic box shape throughout the whole model. Smoothe out the corners of the body and add a neck.
