How do I animate a 2D sprite and control it? Also, how do I create a 3D sprite, e.g. person-shaped with bitmap textured onto it?

It's a series of images you cycle through when you use a sprite. You keep everything the same (the sprite number, x and y locations) but you change the image number the sprite uses.

Here's code for an animated mouse using Darkbasic Classic.

Sonic The Hedgehog,

Just a friendly reminder, for you to check the forums before asking a question. This topic has been spoken about several times.

I'm sure he meant 3D "objects". Of course a plain with a texture could be considered a 3D sprite since the black areas can be transparent.
