I presume you didn't check out previous queries about this ?
As I presume you haven't, I will repeat the reply that Mike gave : It should be made compatiable when it is commercially availiable.

Since Microsoft are currently giving away free betas of VC 2005, I think it might pay TGC to spend some time getting it to work.

yea but its only going to change, but i suppose they could get the basic low level work started with the beta.

Im just wondering because I will soon need to buy one of the Visual studios, and I am starting to like VS2005, but I want to make sure my arsonal of tools will work.

I expect we will support it. Will let you know when we have taken a look at VS 2005.

You probably already know this, but you can download the beta 2 version. You have to pay for the standard, but the express is free.

dont worry, VC++ 2003 is still a great program.

Im not sure if it can make 64-bit programs tho. Can It?

God knows, it's still in the box. I've been coding Java all day and need to give the brain a rest. However, 5 books on various aspects of 3d game programming all arrived with it from Amazon, so I've got some fun reading to be getting on with

I'd wait till they put out a Release Candidate version. They wont make drastic changes when a product gets that far unless it is a complete oversite and undertested bug. (it has happened)

Best guess on VS 2005 release, 1st week in November. And you can bet MSDN subscribers will get it in early October. So either way, those of us who's jobs revolve around DotNet, will speend the summer getting ready, or Christmas/New Years catching up.

And we'll all still be using VS 2003 for the next year till we're confortable with the new tools.
