hi guys.
well firstly ive never posted to this forum so please excuse me about my etiquette.
well for a while now ive been programming a fps. ive got the guns the characters and the worlds worked out and ready and ive even managed a few vehicles.
my problem is this. ive actually built the final exe. and i wish to actually add some more content into the programme. such as more characters etc etc. the only thing is i do not wish to constantly keep on changing the source code and re distribute it on the net.(im going to be releasing this as free ware).
is there a way i can get dbc to load up guns, vehicles and characters etc which arent expressed in the source code???
to give you an idea of what i mean its like unreal tournament you can add your own guns and characters and what not without changing the source. i want to try and do the same thing with my game.

i have thought about one way but im not exactly sure if its credible.
i thought about placing dbc commands into say a txt document which are say specific to the character or vehicle, and then getting db to read the commands from the txt document and executing them.
obviously this means my programme would have to be very dynamic.
is this actually possible?? or is there any other way that i can do this??? or would i have to go down the path of the DLL and if so how do i go about achieving this??

thanks in advance!!!

If you are talking about custumisable phisics, then yes it's posible, I'm going to do this in my game too. What you need to do is go over to this thread: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=54642&b=10. then create a extra program in wich you can set the properties of the guns 'n so, then get your main program to read those settings

please reply

Link is right, instead of reading straight from the source. Have dbc
get all of the info it needs from another file. If that makes sense.
