..yar, when I realised no debugger I decided to get hold of VS6.0.. and the DGSDK is now on order.. if things go ok I'll look at upgrading to .Net 2003 at some stage. I nearly feel like a 'real' developer, lol.
p.s. ah good point on the plat sdk, better kick off a download. I already had the DX9 sdk.
[EDIT] bugger, forgot the latest SDK didn't suppose VS 6.0 anymore, "This SDK does not support working with Microsoft Visual C/C++®, 6.0 as support for VC 6.0 has ended", so guess I need to track down/order the Feb 2003 SDK?
[EDIT2] Hang on, don't I just need the DX9.0b sdk and not the platform sdk? According the DGSDK system reqs.."Locally installed DirectX 9.0b (or higher) SDK", unless perhaps the plat sdk includes the dx stuff.
