I'm making a remake of pacman. I think you're all laughing now, because many people are going to do that I think. The name of my game is Packageman. In my game there are pipes where trough pacman moves. So you can go left, right, up, down, forward and backwards. The pipes are in 8 colors: black, grey, white, red, green, blue, yellow and purple. And sometimes the pipes are transparant and sometimes not. So you have to stay in the pipes, but sometimes you can look trough the pipes and see the world beneath you, there are trees, buildings, mountains and water. Here is a picture of the editor(not a real level, but just to show you all kind of diferent pipes).

Now, what do you think of it?

Looks cool - sorta like a hamster habitat thingy (anyone seen American Psycho?).

Nice idea, set it apart from any other pacman games that get entered.

Before anyone asks i'm 27 without any fractions...

I like your idea for a 3D mapped Pacman, I got a bit scared when I realised you where going for a fps view in pipes but the ghosting idea is cunning, i'd personaly have shyed away from doing a 3D map but giving the player the frame of reference through the ghosted areas of the map is genuinely a cunning idea. Good job, I hope you get it finished.

That's a great idea, if you can implement it as a game, getting the view, and gameplay to work together sound difficult. But if you are capable of coming up with an idea like that then I'm sure that you are capable of implementing it well.

Just wondering, will there be ghosts chasing you aswell, just like in the original Pacman? Or is this game more of a maze and less of a dodging game?

Veel Geluk!

Bedankt!

Yes, there will be ghosts, but you don't have to be very scared for them. It is more like a maze, indeed. The ghosts don't actually chase you, but they just move random trough the pipes.

that fps looks like it wil be harsh. And you should have the ability to switch to 1st person inside the pipes and 3rd person maybe 200 units away from your current location, because dropping you off in the middle of a 3d maze will be impossible to navigate.

You CAN switch to three camera positions. One cam pos just for fun and the other two are First Person and Third Person. The one that's just for fun does look a lot like First Person, but than you are inside Pacman. So you see his mouth going open and close. Not easy to play, but fun(I hope).

Beta of my game. No sky and monsters yet, but I know how to make them. The first level is ready, so please play it. Please tell me too if it runs smoothly. On my comp it does, but it's not a really bad computer.

I know, I know . It's pretty annoying the Yum Yum. Especially if you have a very long pipe with many dots. YUM-YUM-YUM. It even annoys me!
