Alientreasure v1.00.128

A classical horizontal alienshooter, your only aim is to fly thru the
solar system (with real textured planets) and shoot at all.

Screenshots:

There are different alienstyles and waves, phasermodes, backgrounds.
You can setup the difficulty, screensize, gfxdetails...

Sometimes aliens will lost treasures or bonusmines after they was
hit. Bonusmines will push up the phasermode, gives an extralive or
the ability to make a megablast (all aliens will explode)!

If you have some hints or find some bugs, I would be thankfull if
you let me know it

Visit my homepage for direct download:

Hope you have fun, bye Volker

Alientreasure now a little bit updated to v1.00.131

- new and own composed song
- scrolling text in menues
- small gfx & source fixes

and at all I included the DirectX d3dx9_24.dll, cause
Alientreasure is coded in DBPro v1.058 which will used
the newest version of DX (think published after april 2005)!

Hope it will help to run this program.

Not bad at all - would be good if the powerups were slightly easier to collect though.

Gah!

You've got MAD pixel-pushing skills mate, all those games on your site look amazing.

Looking forward to playing, I only ever notice the cool stuff like this when I'm at work .

EDIT:
Just played it - that's a damn smooth shooter right there!, I suck at it, just like I suck at Duo and Mono - but for a retro junkie like me that game is bliss. I'm discovering a new appreciation for bitmap fonts these days because of you and GeeCee.

Just wondering if your entering the Atomix game in the puzzle comp?

That looks like a really cool game!

It's not explicitly in the rules or anything, but I thought it was kind of understood that the competition is for games started at the beginning of the compo and finished by the end. Atomix2004 was made Sept of last year and worked on well into 2005. Maybe it's just me, but that doesn't seem quite right.

I'm not a real programmer but I play one with DBPro!

Wow! The graphics are great, the gameplay is great, the music is great... you have a money maker on your hands.

Isn't that a hubble image on the first level?

Hi Grog Grueslayer,

I never thought that anyone would say
this words to Alientreasure, thank you !

Yes, it's a cut from a Hubble image
called The Eagle Nebula

I find it on one of my favorite sites:

Fantastic game.....very nicely polished indeed.

Only have two little things.
Both to do with the "Level Complete" screen.

If you collect a powerup whilst the "Level Complete" sign is up, they obscure each other; so it might be an idea to make the "Shield", or "Extra life" thing go beneath it?

Also, if you have collected a shield just before the end of the level, you have to wait for it to tick down; which can be a little irritating.

Even so, it's brilliant!

(Ugh...the only people that have been here longer than me in this topic is an Admin and a Moderator)

Yeah brilliant but i did wonder what the hell my shield was doing at the end of the level. I nearly had a nervous break down as I watched it decrease. And my god I made it through level 1 and then got blown to hell by the big fly things and meteors. I think it should be made so that you get all your lives back after each level.

@KamaKase
- Good idea, will change the bonusinfos goes up at all
- You can skip the shield by simply press the mousekey

@Evil God Of Hell
- All lives back after each completed level
isn't that to easy at all? Perhaps try to change the difficulty!
- Hmmm... think about a extrabonus to get lives

Thanks for your hints

Bonus lives are vital, like every so-many points award a bonus life - perhaps work out the average score per level and round it off and make that your bonus score. If your lives don't go up as well as down, the game becomes incredibly difficult to complete, which you don't want.

Personally I like collectable lives, maybe add a life powerup that is dropped once or twice per level - it is a very tricky game you have made, the promise of more lives would make me more inclined to try to play through it all .
