Hi.
I have a 3D model of an M4 that I exported from Milkshape (using the Directx(JT) exporter) and when I loaded it into DBPro it looks white. The animations are there and fine and the texture is in the same folder as the model.
I haven't put any lights into the program, so I don't know why it looks like this.
Here it is in Milkshape:

and here it is in DarkBASIC Pro:

Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance,
-Ev

You may need to manually load the texture and apply it to you model. I.e.:

Intel Pentium 4, 3.4GHz, 1280MB RAM, NVidia Quadro FX3000/256MB, 240GB HD, XP Pro

Actually you dont even need to do that. Just load the texture bitmap into your game folder and it happens automatically. (Correct me if I'm wrong, thats how it is in DBC I've just gotten DBP the other day.)

From what I'm looking at, the texture is already there, but the specular setting is too high and/or broad. Have you messed with those settings in Milkshape or DB? That might fix the problem.

I pity the fool who thinks 1337 is cool!

Hi.
I tried manually applying the texture like the G Man said and that fixed it.

Thanks!

If you want the 'auto texture' to work, make sure you export your model from MS3D with the .ms3d file and texture in the same folder, and export with the texture applied and in texture viewing mode.

Try disabling the lighting on the model.

'set object light objnum,0'

[EDIT]

Also, make sure you're not scaling the model either. That can mess with the lighting, and stretch the texture.
