hi, some of you may remember my posts before about me building a computer. well progress has come along I have most of the parts (msi k8n neo4 pla, amd athlon 64 3800+, alot of etc) but I am stuck with the video card. until now, I have had the MSI GeForce NX6800GT-T2D256E video card which is ~$360 us dollores on newegg. it got good reviews and has the best bundle on the market, and a dicent overclock, quiet, and sli for upgrading. I always have liked nvidea better for some reason and msi is a very good company, the mobo (msi k8n neo4 pla) is excellent. but now I am trying to spend a little less so I can get some other things, the only alternitive is the ati x800xl. it costs 60 us dollors less and offers the same preformance. my main options for a x800xl card are:Gigabyte GV-RX80L256V, HIS X800 XL IceQ II Turbo, MSI RX800 XL-VT2D256E, and the Sapphire RADEON X800 XL Ultimate. please help me choose or to stay with the nvidea card

I'm finding that the X700 I've got is rather unstable - have had a few unwanted computer restarts, and no mention of them in the event viewer (either ATI's bit or the standard section), so I would go with the nVidia.

I'll be getting a 6600 myself hopefully today.

well i'm not getting a x700 for sure neither 6600, the preformance gap is to big to not get a x800 or 6800, the vinillas cost less anyways my main reason for getting a x800xl or 6800gt is futer upgradibility (if thats a word but probably is not). in a year or two I would like to do sli or cross fire (ati).
