Is it possible to make it so one part of an entity is transparent?

Yes, just use the alpha channel in your .tga file ( tweak it in your image editor ie:photoshop etc )

hint: search forum for tga & transparency

*EDIT* Hey all, I am testing colors right now but I think Black is the transperant color.

I found out(for every one that wants to know) that BLACK is the transperant color for segments in FPSC.
