Did anyone ever notice that the TGC forum has rss(live bookmarks) which will tell you what the most recent posts were(and updated dynamically so it is never out of date) I didnt notice that until a few days ago when i was trying to add an rss feed for another website and i figured out what that little orange icon in the corner meant

Heh, yup, a cool little feature of the forum...

I noticed about the time of Firefox v1.0 PR 1... though the RSS feed has probably been there longer...

why does that link download the sourcecode?

Part of solving the problem is actually noticing that the problem is there in the first place

because Explorer doesn't support RSS. well it does but doesn't.
Unless your like hungrey for DB/P news, it really isn't a magnificent feature.

It's a bit like a live version of a newsgroup really. God knows if anyone remembers them.

I just found out that in if you hold control and move the mouse-wheel you can change the text size of any webpage.

Given the fast paced natrue of a forum, isn't RSS overkill - I know when I had it plugged into outlook the volumes of news I was downloading was large - imagine it for forum topics!

I started attempting to database these forums(probably against AUP), but after like a week I just gave up. Grabbing new forum topics alone shot my bandwidth usage up by huge ammounts.

It's also got that nice logon screen with all the smooth animation.

Lets face it, 2000 did everything it all already. You can't beat it. When buying OSes now I'm just going to focus on the colourful bits bolted on

most people dont care about funcionality, they just care about how nice it looks or well no most people dont know about functionality so they have to decide on what it looks like

one of the reason i want to upgrade is because some programs will run on xp but not 2k(yea crazy developers huh) plus a few other things such as looks since everyone likes them(and the way the start menu is i love, having my computer and such just right there)

dont forget the update they made to notepad.exe, now u can open files from the internet in it and drag and drop files to it and it will open them

Alternatly, you could just dis-allow JavaScript in FF, and run the page, then view the source

'tis easy stuff

Jess.
