I don't know if you folks have seen or tried to use this tool to make FX shaders for your models but it might be worth a look (since it's free).
Link is here: http://developer.nvidia.com/object/fx_composer_home.html#2

I've tried and exported some of the basic ones and they load and work fine in DB Pro. Some of the more complex ones (like post_tv for example) complain about not being loaded when set to use in DB Pro. Not sure what the ailment is but any help would be appreciated.

Anyway, nice tool for the price I think.

cool, too bad my graphics card hates FX shaders, when I get a mac with a windows emulator or the hard drive partitioned to hold windows and mac os X, then I'll prolly find use for this

you can't make a mac have a windows partition, you can only get it to run microsoft virtual machine, then it will run an os inside of the mac os

I don't get the whole 'Mac' thing either. Shaders are Graphics Card-based not CPU-based, surely buying a $50 Budget Card like the 6200 would provide the support you desire?

FX Composer 1.7 was released a few weeks ago, but given DB/P has very limited support for DXSAS Shaders which 1.5-1.7 Export, I've found very little point in letting people know about it.

It's a powerful tool, but you still need to understand how Shaders work in order to make any use of it.

I had never been interested in shaders before. The user guide mentions that you can export the shaders as older versions i.e. 1.4 and below but I haven't found the switches for it yet.

It amazes me at the amount of time it takes for DB Pro to load one of these shaders. It only takes about 10 seconds but the files are so small that it seems to take too long for what you're really trying to do
