As no-body seems to know when LLRGT will be back online I've created a backup forum:

http://llrgt.stuffitall.com/

LLRGT members only please; data transfer is expensive.

Nice one David

There are only, what, 10-15 active LLRGT members as it is... why don't they just come live here. Based on the quantity of newb posts that were at LLRGT last time I checked, it can't be all that much worse on Apollo

Bah, just go to IRC, it's not like half of you don't go to the other room and not #llrgt anyway.

[Edit] And I -promise- I won't kick you for the hell of it. I'm not the evil dictator OP anymore

Bad first impressions - I wasn't exactly blown away by Apollo when I first arrived (mainly because it was new), but I think its just grown and grown and eclipsed RGT ages ago. It's much better having hte one centralised forum, rather than being split in 2 like before.

The thing is that Apollo would probably be a better place if we had the LLRGT regulars here, it's rare for the oldbies to get a chance to have a long newb-scaring debate these days.

Most of them have the opinion that Apollo is full of newbs - which is a fine assumption to make if you also accept that newbs are there to be helped, and if you can help but don't, then your just contributing to the 'problem'.

I like Apollo best because..well... I can't really find LLRGT . And lots of french people come here. Yes I know that there's a french TGC thing, but the site looks really bad, and the forums are nowere as advanced as Apollo. Plus, there's no JIMMEH!

It's amazing how much TV has raised us. (Bart Simpson)

I guess I'm considered a RGT'er....

There are a lot of good reasons that some of the "oldbies" stayed there. Some people were probably just comfortable and didn't feel like changing forums AGAIN. Some people there do not use DBpro anyomore and prefer the mixed language environment. Some people were just better friends with the people that stayed at RGT than the people that moved to Apollo, so the stuck with the personalities that they liked. And some people prefer the "raven-free" zone.

Personally, I like BOTH forums. With my busy schedule, it is easier for me to keep up with the slower pace of RGT than here though.

Jimster,

It is more like "Raven-lite". He has popped in here and there under different names. Still, he wasn't quite as vocal as he is here (...no offense to Raven).

RGT just seems more friendly to me and the slower pace is gd.

Anyway RGT was the first DB forum I used so I'm staying.

Well one benefit to LLRGT is that a lot more open discussion is allowed. Of course, that can be a bad thing sometimes. Its just more everthing orientied, where Apollo is more DB focused.

I'm just too afraid of all the newcomers not having a clue who I am to show my face around here

Course maybe its about time I got back to helping people out.

It's more a mutual understanding for the most part I think.
Those who remain on LLRGT will know that I'm not likely to post there much, my last post was what.. 12months ago, and before that a few months before.

The way I see it, with the exception of a few constant protagonists I'm happy to leave people in peace in a place they like, if they're willing to extend the same curtosey towards me being in this forum.

As I said, there are a few who can't seem to help but try to constantly cause trouble. But they're are jerks everywhere. Pretty hard to to always escape them.

Shouldn't that TELL you something??

I mean, I don't have a problem with jerks. A lot of people don't. But you can't seem to escape them... hmmmmmmmmm.

with the amount of downtimes llrgt have had since it was created has almost killed off some users, it's why it's almost a ghost town there.
i'll be suprised if they can recover the forum to get a decent level of users back.

uwdesign,
Shhh, They're not Aussie, so they don't have the understanding... We have to talk slow and deliberatly for their primitive brains to catch up!

( jk, guy's ).

I like LLRG as it is a more advanced community, but it's too slow, and there's not enough general knowledge being swapped over there for me to set up shop

as for LLRGT not progressing as a community; it's because the admins don't have enough time to put into the site. I have suggested a viable idea to las6 over IRC but it remains to be seen whether the admin team implements it or not.

You can modify it to any of three virtualy identical gray skins!!

I checked and some of the pixels in the default screen have a slight green tinge. (207,208,207)

One of the more famous of the admins even has a gray for his avatar!

In a full-text browser(elinks) it work perfectly.

Oh and I know this isn't really the place to ask but,

Am I the only who thinks it's pretty stupid(no offense) to keep 'Simple's tutorial thread' in the Graphics Related section?

-It's not good for a website's image to promote a Ripoff artist that steals other people's concepts.

-Images don't show anymore(hmm wonder why? )

What's the point in endorsing such thievery?

Anyways, you know me,I never liked him and it seems I was pretty much right about that feeling.

Edit:Yup,I'm still mad at people like this and probably will always be,it actually helps me get the better off of them instead of falling into the trap.Anyways,I don't really care if it stays,I guess it can be a testament of how careful you have to be when it comes to trusting people.

I think talking about it is better than just let it go and forget.

Everyone loved the tutorial, but if the pictures are no longer there. It would be good for someone to either locally upload and update the post or just delete it.

Personally I'd recommend someone else made thier own tutorials.
No doubt the reason his were so successful in terms of people liking them is because of the simple lack of tutorials.
