There are some programs that allow you to have multiple "desktops" in windows XP like they have in some linux distros. i've used a few, but wasnt too pleased with them or i cant remember what they were or where i got them.
anyone know where i can download a FREE (not shareware) virtual desktop manager?

The only ones I have ever seen are crap. Run extremely slow and are just horrible. Although if you have a top-of-the-line pc, then its cool to have linux and xp running at the same time.

no, there is not point to my post that has any relevancy to this question.

oh no, that's not what i meant, sorry, i dont want to run Linux and XP

there are some programs that have 4 "desktops" and you can open some programs on one, then change to the other and have a clean taskbar and open more, but then you can cycle back to you other "desktops"

I'm sure someone could program something like this, all it would do is get the HWNDs on screen, and show/hide them depending on what desktop they're in.

Sig changed for lagging up browsers.

Forceware for GeForce has it built-in to nView.
Have my desktop setup so I can flick between several by mouse gesture (again exclusive nView feature).

This also includes varying levels of Windows Transparency, Minimusing to Titlebar, Z-Ordering, etc.

os x has native tablet support for wacom,
i have found so far and has ink and mouse gestures native to the os.

http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/inkwell/
however this free screensaver to desktop app i found wont do both of the monitors
but its still nice to have an aquarium as a desktop

The KDE desktop has that option in advanced options of the Background settings.

You basically tell what application to run as BG,pretty cool.

Having a hard time finding one for windows and as I suspected, you will usually get this kind of answer:

Quote: "Now why are you going to do that. Don't you know that will just slow you computer down."

Getting Linux has nothing to do with ditching Windows,I know alot of people that dual boot more than 2 OS on the same box.

IF you want eye-candy that isn't gonna hit your processor on the head with a nailgun that's your best choice.

PS:I still intensively use windows,I'm not anti or something FYI.

Well,you learn something new everyday.

Blackbox for windows,I didn't expect that one.

That's one extremely fast environment just like fluxbox.
