hi everyone.

Here is a little particle demo I have made. It's nothing amazing but it looks quite nice. It's the result of a spiral particle test.

screenie:

and the file:
http://members.thegamecreators.com/geecee3/programs/cygnus.zip

and here are some wallpapers you can use as backdrops and stuff in your game menus etc. 10 images per pack 1024x768 .PNG files.

screenie / examples:

and the files:
http://members.thegamecreators.com/geecee3/media/wallpapers01.zip

http://members.thegamecreators.com/geecee3/media/wallpapers02.zip

http://members.thegamecreators.com/geecee3/media/wallpapers03.zip

You can re-work the images for your own use in your 'free' applications and games made using the tools of the community and you can use them as desktop wallpaper etc. Credit would be nice, but not necessary. some of the images have text in them, you can rub this out if you wish.

enjoy. Grant.

Nice demo!

I got an inconsistent frame rate, it seemed to "judder" at certain points, particularly when the "sun" reached the the South-East corner of my screen.

it's very heavy on the ghosted plains, some cards epecially the lower end FX and radeonSE cards seem to struggle a bit. it's strange how it handles on the 440MX though. better framerate than the FX5200, very strange. but I find the same thing with all my code, the mx440 totaly out-performs the FX5200, and that's with half the vid mem too. it's not the driver or system config, I have tested it umpteen times and always the mx440 seems to come out on top. way too confusing.

Man, you rule.

Very nice, I don't really have a use for any of it at the moment, but it all looks great, just the same!
