Here's my first official Darkbasic Pro game. Kaboom is based on the old Atari 2600 game. I kept the graphics the same and added a few things.

It's entirely mouse driven with only one key check (ESC during play will end the game and go back to the main menu).

In Kaboom you try to prevent the Mad Bomber from blowing you up. You have 3 barrels to catch the bombs he drops.

I'd like to know how it runs on everybodys computers (i've only tested it on 3). Please be brutally honest about Kaboom.

That is a great game! Really addicting. I have a pic here of my final Hi-Score on my first try.

I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

Where I come from "woopdi doo" is derogatory.

If that is your meaning:

I didn't expect everybody to like it. Yes, it is an old game with primitive graphics but that was my intention to be just like the original. I tried to mimic the exact way the game looks and plays. I believe I have achieved it... and if that makes you hate it so be it. How often have you tried to mimic a game you like only to fail miserably? Besides it's my first Darkbasic game (a month after getting it). What was your first game?

If you enjoyed playing Kaboom:

Thanks and sorry about the above text.

Here's a direct link to Kaboom for anybody that's too lazy to see my webpage first.

PS: Paf, could you clarify your meaning... like it or hate it? Regardless of your meaning... thanks for bumping this message up.

Thanks

Yeah. The people that are still in the dark ages using ball mice won't get good scores on Kaboom.

Dom, oh there it is.

KLU 007, thanks. The main graphics (crook, bombs, barrels, explosions) are all ripped from the original.

Addictive game nice job, i used a laser mouse with the annoyance of a daddy long legs fly... flying about near my screen
*swat*

Hmm i wish there was a pause button...

Nice game, runs smoothly but a suggestion, maybe limit the speed at which the barrels move, that way there's no un-fair advantage with mouse-sensitivity.

I think it would get a serious coolness boost if you did up the graphics, up the sound, but it is a pretty fun old timey game.
