... what i'm getting at... say i want to simulate being inside of a vehicle that pitches and rolls... can the level be scripted to rotate, and the player not 'fall' out...

thx

As far as I can recall this isn't in the EA version or in V1.

thx Mike for the quick reply...

along the same lines, i was reading where the physics engine will provide collision detection for imported models (someone did a terrain thing in the current FPSC)... could this concievably be the way to approach something like this...

say i made a model of a control room of a submarine... placed it in a level... and had it pitch and roll... would the collisions keep the player from falling trhough it???

If you can do all the rotation of objects like this then the collision would take over and your objects would be confined to the space. You could also have it so objects such as tables and chairs are affected by the movement.

The physics adds a great deal to FPSC and when you see some demos and videos you will get a good idea of the kind of things that are possible.

One of the main things we'll have to look at is to ensure that all of this is completely customisable and you can do things like you say with pitching and rolling objects to create all kinds of scenarios.

I have seen several videos that Rick has made. They have turned out really well and you get to see all kinds of physics related actions going on. We can probably expect to see them on the site within the next few weeks.

Terminator - videos will be on the site soon enough Still working on changes for the beta version of the interface. As soon as we're ready to go I'll let you know and we can test for these problems and see if they have been resolved.
