I need a modelling software. i have the demo of TrueSpace 6.6 and the light version of GameSpace. I have the full 3ds Max 6 too but it's too complex. I do not have milkshape and it's easy but i want to choose between...

1. trueSpace
The demo version shows how it's powerfull, easy and it got all i need. It cost high. I will enter the caligari's demo showcase to win one. If i win, i will be great.

2. gameSpace
This is great. I want a modeling software for game-making and movies/renders. I don't know if gameSpace have what i need.

So, what i should choose?

gameSpace can't render cut-scene and ts6.6 has limited support
for games, imo you should get something else.
There are better 3D packages out there for example.
LightWave is much better, it can render cut-scene and
it has some support for games (Doom 3 models were create in lightwave)
there is Silo, it's cheap and powerful modeler, but it's just a modeler
there are no amination option or render.
Animation:Master, is a good package for animations but it has
very limited support for game.

I think that LightWave is the best choise but it's a bit expensive
they do some sales something so you can get it in $600-$700.
or if you still want trueSpace so you should also buy the gamePak.

well, um, pulls out the guide in a magazine.....(how many times have I done this, I should know it all off by heart )

Looking at the under £250 sections
Aist movie
$68
http://aist.com

Gamespace as you said, but it lacks rendering animation abilities.

Animation Master (as mentioned) £154 http://www.hash.com(what a url hash, lol)

Shade 7 designer £56 http://www.curiouslabs.com

I've not looked at the listed my self, but I've seen Animation Master in 3D world Magazine and well I'll give you the jist of things

It doesn't imply 3D making abilities, but I could be wrong, and well it looks like a really powerful animator, might buy it myself actually.....and well I'm only looking at a tutorial to make my judgements

cool, I tried winning TS 6.6 in the main comp (I wasn't allowed to do the demo one cos I own 5.2) but my animation didn't beat the winner, they better do the compo to win TS7 when released, from the sounds of things it might be the change that will make it compete with lightwave and Cinema 4D

I would buy the truespace/gamepak instead its only $199.00 when gamespace is $299.00 if you do get truespace wait awhile before you buy gamepak they sent me a promotional email where gamepak was only $99.00

I wouldn't mind getting Animation Master but there's no demo, someone on the forums pointed out that there was a 30 day money back guarantee but I'd rather not spend time scraping 150 beans together only to ask for it back.

i'd prolly get it, I don't like cinema 4D's animation tools, I like the look of Maya's animation tools but I'm not gonna choose the maya base over the full studio of C4D, so i'm prolly gonna get it

Personally, I use Silo ($109) for modelling (they have a free 30 day demo at http://www.nevercenter.com), LithUnwrap (Free) for texturing/format conversion and FragMotion ($35) for animation.

All of these have demos, give them a try! You won't be sorry!

yup, Silo is great, not as easy as ZBrush, but prety good itself, has tonnes of help and tutorials

@Skalex, if you are going to reject Gman's advice, well if you want the features of trueSpace and gameSpace, well buy TrueSpace, and look for gamepak on their website, which is a plugin with the gamespace features for trueSpace, of course its not free
