i wanna make a furturistic racing game.
I have few nice ideas in mind but bringing them to reality would be hard.
I just want to know how can i create a simple object movement like cars in need for speed 1 or 2. and how can i detect collisions when it goes off track.
Someone help me with that!
An example will be appreciated

The principle behind racing games is to use Waypoints. These are hidden objects that your vehicles must collide with in turn. You put them on corners and other significant parts of the track.

If you are asking questions about moving cars and collision, then I think you need to take a step back, and start smaller. Work out how to do the individual components of your game before putting them together.

The Assets and Templates Tutorial I wrote in Issue 29 of the newsletter (http://www.thegamecreators.com/data/newsletter/newsletter_issue_29.html) uses the example of vehicles travelling around a track, which you can download with source. It's extremely simple, and doesn't use collision between vehicles, but it will introduce you to a few of the concepts you need to get your head around.

Mayb u could set it to where, if the car goes so far off the track it resets on the track that way u wouldnt have to worry about collisions off track. Just a thought.

...By which time they've probably driven off the edge of your level, spend 5 minutes looking at a medium-dark-blue screen before randomly appearing back on the track again.

Waypoints. Nobody said they had to be invisible - Like those double-arrowed things y'see in loads of racing games, they count.
