hi..

anticipating the release of V1 soon... the new video looks awsome with physics and MP...

when the EA version was released there was support for XP.. will win2k be supported also especially with V1 approaching? I know ive had help with win2K, just wondering whether it will be official.

thanks

great work TGC...

hi glyvin101..

its works mostly with my version in win2k, but i still get the rpoblem loading the program and have to use the 'editied' exe file so i can use FPSC..

wondering if this has been fixed for V1 release and for win2k also...

As far as I understand FPSC is "unoffically supports" 2k. They say that it might work, but they won't offer help for it. And there probally is a reason, but I don't know it (although it might be a Direct X issue)

Check your direct X version by typing

DxDiag
into the run window ctrl + R

What we REALLY need to know is WHY Lee was only supporting XP, from there you can find a way to get FPSC to work for any type of windows.

false...

My reconing is that Windows changed the way it handles applications for Win2000 and XP, like more advanced NT style application handling, which is just not part of ME or 98se.

XP is kinda pulling away from 2000 in terms of DX, the version for 2000 is different from the XP version, so in the future if TGC adopt a version of DX that is not compatible with 2000, then we'll have problems - but I imagine we're safe for now.

It's a strange one considering how much of XP's ass is kicked by the stability and cleanliness of Win2000.

so we need to create a shell (i really don't know these terms) that will simulate XP conditions with DX and Application Handling.

Or in other words, make a nt computer randomly throw it's memory around, run redundant processes, and a slightly more advanced version of DX...

(couldn't you dll dx, I read something along the lines somewhere)

It'd probably be more like Lee changing the way FPSC switches between apps (it'd be more than that, I'm guessing application switching is a big part of it).

Remember that TGC is a small company still, and unless Lee has a PC with ME and 98 installed he can't really code for them that effectively. Perhaps they'll go for maximum compatibility for v1, so it won't be a problem.

V1 will officially support 2000. Currently testing on 98 and ME as well.

A great many people think they are thinking when they are really rearranging their prejudices.
