I have a problem with the dbpro I just got recently. I installed on my PC and it works fine, but when I put it on my laptop it is super slow, and only refreshes once or mabey 2 per second. My programs complie and run no problem in db classic on the laptop, so I'm stumpped. Also had a couple questions.

1. Is it possible to have a personal graphic/thumbnail, on dbpro exe. files ?
2. Is it possible to add a game, demo,or app directly into a website.
so it runs on the webpage.
3. What is a DLL and what are they used for.

If anyone can help thanks.

1_ Graphic/Thumbnail.. I can't understand what you mean.. Sorry.
If you're talking about your own icons, cursors, etc/or just
about storing media, the answer is yes..
DBPro allows users to store any type of media into exe's,
change the exe's icons, in-program cursors blah blah blah..
2_ Not of my consistent knowledge.. I don't know where it is,
but I think that there is a browser for doing it.. It's a
DBPro scene viewer via web.. Yes.. there is.. but with a
fitting browser.. I think if you search for this one
in the PA or WIP or DBPro you could find it
3_ DLL (Dynamic Link Library) is also known as "plugin".. These
files have internal functions and routines for doing something..
DLLs are used when you wanna make anything that the software
you're using doesn't allow you to do it..
e.g.:
DBPro doesn't have the command "record all system sounds"..
Then, if you wanna use this command, you must to get a DLL
that allows you to make it.. Once you put a DLL with internal
functions in the "Compiler\plugins-user" folder, you'll be
allowed to be using the functions stored in that DLL..
DBPro uses a lot of DLL's.. look at the names of the DLLs
in the "Compilerplugins" folder.. Is that suggestive for
you?

About your lapTop:
slap it..
obs.: when you post problems like this one, it would
be much more clear if you give details about your
system: DirectX version, OS, Processor, Memory,
Video memory.. etc..
Ok.. hardware isn't my strong point..
if it all is right, then slap it again..

The worst foe lies within the self...

DB Pro uses newer versions of DirectX, and requires more video memory. So if your Laptop Graphics Card is "Made for DirectX 7", or only has 32 Megabytes of memory, it will run like a slug.

Thank-you for the info. a personal Icon is what I was talking about I guess. Instead of the Dark basic pyramid when you're looking for your exe in a folder. DLL's prabably a bit out of my league, for now. wrote my first line of code mabey 3 or 4 months ago now, loving it and putting a lot of effort into it, however still a bit overwhelming at times. Anyway, thanks again for your time.

To change the icon for your game you just use the sidebar and click on icons (at the bottom) and add an icon. Whatever the first icon is, is the one that Darkbasic Pro uses for your program. There a little problem with some icons though... 32bit icons have a color change.
