Seeing all the guns peeps are making I thought I'd try my hand at a pistol from the same site. It's got some great gun references for anyone who is interested(http://www.norrkoping.bonet.se/rad/guns/). Here is a render:

and a wire frame:

And before anyone says anything, yes it is uneccesarily(spl?) hi-poly in some places.

although it could do with a good texture, but not every modeller is a good texturer.....I'm not too good with texturing myself, unless I got a good ref image

Texturing is definately not my strong point. I still have no idea what exactly a UV map is.
:p

I made another gun:

Yes all the textures suck

meh, its better to be a good modeller than texturer, anyway, I have a hunch you're using C4D, the brick shader looks strangly familiar, and the 3D space

so it is, but the brick texture looks exactly like the C4D one though!

They're both nicely designed guns, well except the barrel on the 2nd one could really do with an inside diameter so it's more like a barrel and less like a piece of cheap aluminium tube.

The thing that puzzles me is why?

They're both too high poly for a game, so I'm not sure why your making them - they're not even practice because low poly gun modelling is completely different to 'untapped' poly modelling.

Perhaps next you should make a little pack of low poly guns for free download, one stipulation you could add is that if they use the gun they must retexture it and send you a copy of the texture for your own use - kinda like a shared licence where both parties benefit from eachother but with no money changing hands.

Thanks for the comments all. There is actually thickness to the barrel of the second one, but I put it in a little too concave and then when I smoothed it came out looking too thin. And yes im using Blender. To answer Van B's question...I am just making them for the fun of modelling. I dont' really care how high the poly is because all im trying to do is recreate the pictures on the site as closely as possible. People do make things that are not for games and are just pictures you know :p
I am working on a rifle right now.
