If anyone tries to run FPSC and an error message comes up saying, "The application failed to start because d3d9.dll is missing. Re-installing the application may fix the problem.", then download this copy of d3d9.dll and move it to C:/windows/system32. That should fix the problem.

d3d9.dll is a directx file. If you don't have it you SHOULD download the full update to DX.

It is a DirectX 9 file, and FPSC will only work with DX9. But I could never get my computer to download DX9, so I posted this with a different computer in case anyone in case anyone else has the same problem...

You should (as Merranvo suggested)visit this web site:

If you have a dial up modem or any other slower modem you could just use d3d9.dll, but it is recommended that you download Direct X 9c.

I am running XP. The computer is recently upgraded to XP from 98. It did run FPS Creator when I was in 98. I only had DX8 so I got a copy of d3d9.dll from another computer that had DX9. Whenever I tried to download DX9 it said that the page was unavailable. This d3d9.dll worked just fine for me.
