I was thinking one day about DB forums. The community is full of great people, but there is not much out there. So, I was looking around for forum software and bought some for $185. I was wondering if anyone would like to help me establish a full DarkBASIC community. It would just be about DarkBASIC, not all these other TGCs products, and it would be aimed at helping with all aspects not just the product: Animation, World Building, Advanced Math, and more. I am looking for the following people to help me out:

Administrators:
1. Gamedev (Main Admin, WebMaster)
2. alexdotsch (IPB Scripter)
3. ? (Forums Maintainance)

Global Moderators:
1. ?
2. ?

Forums Moderators:
1. ? (DBC Mod)
2. ? (DBP Mod)
3. ? (Resources Mod)
4. ? (Off the Topic Mod)

Forum Council
1. ?
2. ?
3. ?

I think that we should have about 54 members before beta ends. There would be rewards for good posters too. Also, there will be a games archive to post your DB games, a topsites place, forums arcade, other programming help, and a chat room. What do you think?

why spend 185$ on forums software? you could have used phpbb or the new yabbse(gorget name) and there free , and besides whats wrong with these boards? they are pretty much capable of doing everything you say your forum can do, "Animation, World Building, Advanced Math" dont 2 of those fall under 3d boards and bark basic pro descussion?

well i dont think trying to transfer members from these borards t a newly established board will ever work, but i guess you could try.

No, I mean specificly aimed at DarkBASIC, not all the other products such as CShop, FPSC, Texture Maker, and other junk. There would be forums specificly for subjects in a certain place of DB. Also, IPB 2.1 is way better than PHPBB or anything else out there.

Gamedev,

These boards are general boards for DarkBasic and other software. They are generalized for the people. Others have tried to do this very same thing you are doing, with failure. However, maybe luck will be with you. But, I would take the words of them who say, "There is no point in it.".

If people will help, we can do this. The boards will have archives to store games, arcades, a chat room, and more. You can also have your own personal calendar and PM system. What do you think? I think that it will be better than just a general board.

Nice idea, but why? Why would we spend our time to make a forum that won't be as good or as active as these?

Sorry, gotta agree w/ everyone else here.

Wouldn't it be better to get the community up and runnig and only then start thinking about mods?
