Here is a very early pic of my retro game. Actually, there is no game in this at all. It's just the beginnings, before I got the world in.

Can you guess what it is?

PS - The effect is in real time

Nope! It was on the SNES.

As I can't use material from the original then I'll have o improvise - and that means calling it Rob the Rolling Robot.

And I've just found out another version is being done for the compo! But using copyrighted material, tut tut...

the rocket effect looks like a realtime created polygon with a helix spiral
but i've not seen it moving so i can't tell properly (^_^)

probably just plains which spin around but still would look good

Samus' rocket pack was my only addition, I think it lends more of a "puzzle" element to the game, like Mario's water backpack.

As I can't use copyrighted matrieal it'll be based around a cute robot who crash lands on a planet (like Metroid Fusion).

And the rocket is plains, but there is a reason why they spin so wildly. (not just randomly)

i think someone has to seriously come up with an outstanding game made in DB capable of competing againat industry standard, only then will dark basic gain the recognition it deserves <sorry off topic>

Yeah, but I find working on your own is best, a large team working from remote corners fo the world could be risky

Just remaking the rocket code - it didn't transfer well to BSPs

Thanks everyone

The Rocket has been reworked (BSP collision caused havoc with it) and, once P4 is out and hopefully "delete bsp" will work, I'll begin on the switching of levels.

I've decided to use exclusive mode as it gives a great FPS increase, so now it's weapons that I'm concentrating on
