Hey all,

I'm researching AI for controlling CPU drivers to orient around a track. I've done a good search on Google and keep getting articles about the future of computer-controlled cars

Anyone have a great link to an all-you-can-eat AI super site packed with good examples and theory?

I have an idea how to do this already (I studied upper-level AI courses in Uni), but I'm required to do some research before I begin the task.

Thanks

I'm kidding of course. Actually, I'd like to see a similar site, would have some very interesting reads.

As I understand it, they have a GPS system for the directional driving, but the REALLY HARD PART is the trafic driving.

For information, write to GM (they are always in the race with this type of tech) They won't give you step by step, but they might explain it better. (I am not sure that they will explain it at all, but it is Just a sudgestion.)

NOTE: Humanity sucks, if only people would put emmiters in their cars, a lot of people would have a VERY easy job.

http://www.aaai.org/AITopics/html/robots.html

Mainly about robots, but it also has a ton of links for AI and stuff.

I also found this mildly funny banner ad.

Well, you can go both ways if you infer meanings... I really wish people can just state what they are asking for, first time I read that I thought he was talking about Game AI, second time I thought he was refering to actual vechical AI. I hate learning a lot of terms. It is simple to say "I want a site on gamming vehical AI programming"

give em vision?, let the AI aim for the most distant clear point in it`s feild of "view", you could cast ten rays and aim down the longest, then next frame create more and so on, as you go around the track the rays would find the most open path and aim for that, altering by increments as they go for each frame, you could use hidden plains to prevent it roaming off into open spaces and it would naturaly try to avoid other cars as it got close to them.

Thanks for the info, guys. I found a bunch of great books on the topic so I might have to pick 1 or 2 up at Chapters.
