Anyone know of any downloadable tools that will help me make a website using frames? or even one that will generate the code for me if i tell it what i want? ( i hate to program and edit frame code but its nice to have on a site)

Frames=Evil

Use tables...

and HTML is rather easy, programs like dreamweaver will over complicate your source, but that is to be expected.

if you have microsoft office, just use frontpage, its very easy to use and contrary to what many people think, can actually output some decent code as long as you use it correctly.

I honestly never seen a single a visually good webpage made with Frontpage in my entire internet life.

Well, any page that I have seen so far can be created with relative ease with Microsoft Frontpage, the html part of it anyway. Most people seem to dislike it because the fact that it is not very "flexible" but it is actually very flexible, you just have to know what you are doing.

Anyway, for frames, it is extremely easy in frontpage anyway. File-->new , then select a frame template, and edit it from there.

but plenty of bad ones, I have seen. Front Page is horrible, but Microsoft loves it, because people hate it so much Microsoft will now combind Word and Page to force people to use it. Give me a break.

On top of that, people who use frontpage typically end up using microsoft clip art, and how gay is that?

Frames are EVIL, use tables.

For some reason, I highly dought Microsoft used their own crummy tool to create their webpage. Do they use MSpaint to grate their logo and advertisments?

The Judy Patch site was made by frontpage (or it had that little "made with frontpage" in it) mind you, it is killed. Rather stupidly too, she now expects us to believe that she got hacked! Her hard drive has been stolen!

Microst's site has dreamweaver written all over it, not as bad as FrontPage which generates 10kb source while DW gens 2kb. So there is a difference between DW and FP, FP drains bandwith, DW doesn't.

Yah, because 10kb is sooooo much larger and more straining than 2kb. Welcome to 1999, Merranvo

And by the way, Dreamweaver does NOT export crap code as compared to most of the other editors. It is the cleanest code possible, aside from using straigh-up Notepad, because it has a Tidy HTML option that removes redundant tags and even auto-indents. Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.

I WAS refering to directly coding it, direct coding is typically better.

10k 2k... if you are on dialup, which is still 2005, then what do you prefer. And not even that. Jeku, do you program and leave 8000 redundant characters in your files?

I would say frontpage and dreamweaver are very good programs but i would use fireworks.

These both are faults of the programmer/drag and droper, and not the program its self.

And microsoft web pages are asp so they proberly would use frontpage over dreamweaver.

Any spelling mistakes are totally In tensional.

If anyone honesly wants to go the distance with web development, using Frontpage is laughable.

Well i believe he just wanted to make simple websites with frames without having to learn any code rather than go deeply into web development. Yea, if you ARE going "the distance" with web development, I would higly reccommend learning all the needed programming and using a tool called "Notepad++", its like notepad, but with programming extras.

Of course not (not on purpose, anyways ). But the fact that you said it "drained bandwidth" on the web server made me laugh out loud. Call me bored.

WTF... mods keep editing my posts, I did not post that . I can't keep track of what I am posting half the time. No it does NOT bloody well drain bandwith, unless you have a 5mb bandwidth...

I think I was going to say that 2kb would run better then the 10kb, less commands to execute and what not.

MOD EDIT:

For fun, see how the edited date appears above here when a mod edits the post? Therefore, your previous post wasn't edited by a mod

USER EDIT:

It was a joke... I hadn't realized what I had posted, I still don't belive that I posted "Drains Bandwidth" man, that is AWFUL.

(or mabey it was edited by an admin, who deleted my post and impersonated me...)

don't use frames, it is very unprofessional. And don't show the frame bar, or allow resize (but hiding the frame bar does the same thing)

also you need to call the name "right" in your href. I haven't used frames in a decade, so I forget the commands.

That's because the visuals aren't made with Frontpage.
